Humble Pie

While camping at Abel Tasman, NZ, I accidentally backed the car up over some of Hudson's toys. The victims were two duplo cars. They held up surprisingly well, but the weight did bent one of them in such a way that we could never again attached any other duplo pieces to the base. It also wobbled rather then rolled from that point on. Despite the damages, we have continued to haul that car with us everywhere we have been since, even though Hudson does not really like playing with it anymore.

In Siem Reap we acquired two new books (Dr.Suess's "The Lorax" and "Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories") and a new toy train ... and since we are starting to get pretty close to our weight limit in all our bags, something had to go. The duplo car was put on the chopping block, and into the trash bin it went.

We went out for the day, and when we came back the trash had been taken out. The duplo car base sat on TV cabinet. Alright, so maybe we did not ACTUALLY put it in the trash.

The next day before we headed out, we did a quick sweep of the room. The duplo car base was put in the trash. When we came back however, it was sitting on top the the TV cabinet, again.

On the third day, it was "finally" taken out of the room. Incidentally, it was on that day that we visited the floating village nearby and took the "photo" above.

It was almost a week ago now, but both Karl and I are still tasting that Humble Pie.

Cheers,
M
